INITIAL SUBMISSION TO STUDY ON NANOTECHNOLOGY

Please find enclosed a submission registering the Health and Safety Executives interest in the study into nanotechnology.

This submission consists of:

1. A submission registering the Health and Safety Executives interest in the study into nanotechnology;
2. A brief outline of some of the key scientific issues involved;
3. A research report entitled ' Cellular responses to metal ultrafines';
4. A review paper entitled 'Review of fibre toxicology', and
5. A report entitled 'Assesment of hte effects of dermal exposure to ultrafine patricles'.

This information is only a preliminary overview of the knowledge that HSE has and we would hope to provide further evidence as your study proceeds.
